Following the application of an octopus damp in the sixth round. Ken Kenneth (16.10), of New Zealand, beat Fraley (17.11), of the United in a professional heavy-weight wrestling bout in the Whangarci Town Hall last night. Fraley was unable to continue. As usual crowd-pleasing tactics interjected, hair-pulling, throat-poking and right hooks being the favourite methods. Until the match ended suddenly Fraley was up one fall, secured in the fourth round by head locks and a body press. Up to then the bout had been quiet. Kenneth was wary after the spell while Fraley took the initiative through the fifth round. In the. sixth round the New Zealander snapped on the clamp and the match was over. Amateur preliminaries resulted: Dennis Keyte (6.0) beat Mike Robertson (6.0) on points. Colin Love (6.7) drew with Don Gardiner (6.7) one fall each. John Sutherland (6.11) beat John Gardiner (7.0) by one fall. Ossie Greer (9.13) drew with Don Gibbs (9.7) one fall each. Dave Cullan (12.0) drew with Alan Rowlands (11.0) no falls. R. Sutherland (12.0) beat M. Ford (13.0) by one fall.
