Killed 23 To Get One?

OTTAWA, Fri. (1.30 p.m.)—There was a sensational development in police inquiries into the explosion aboard a Canadian Pacific Airways plane which caused it to crash 40 miles from Quebec city on September 9 with the loss of 23 lives.

Inspector Rene Belec, of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, said: “We have definite proof that explosives were placed on the plane to get rid of a woman, and we believe we can prove who did it.

The announcement came after disclosure that the police were guarding a woman said to be so ill that she may die in a Quebec hospital. Police Superintendent Josaphat Brunet said the woman would be questioned about a mysterious parcel reported to have been placed on the plane shortly before it left Quebec City. ,
