Funeral Of Mr F. Smith

The funeral of the late Mr F. R. Smith, took place this afternoon, interment being in the homeservicemen’s section of Maunu lawn cemetery, where a considerable number of returned soldiers ( including a South African veteran), members of the Homeserviccmens’ Association, .Freemasons and the general public were present.

The orthodox ceremony of lowering the Union Jack on the flagstaff was duly carried out and after the service at the graveside, conducted by the Rev George Brown, the Masonic funeral service was conducted by Bro. J. A Inkster, chaplain of Lodge," Whaogarei. No. 102. of which the deceased had been a member. Floral offerings wore numerous snd bsautifii.
