I wish to thank those sub-unions and their representatives who raised the question of playing for the Pat Brydon

BRYDON TROPIIY

Memorial Trophy at the Maori - Pakeha trial match on Sat-

, iirday. The-remarks by the chairman of the NAJUJ Management Committee, as reported in your paper, do not meet with similar thanks.

His contention that the rules for this trophy did not stipulate that the match should not be played as a trial seem quite uncalled for. and under this ruling, we may soon see him applying his remarks to the three other trophies for competition by the NARU. How would a pair of running shoes for his use as a “trial” be? I wiJuld be pleased to donate them.—"OFFSIDE."
