Recruiting Of 2000 NCOs
WELLINGTON. Thu. (Sp.L— Some men other than 18-ycar-olds are to be rccurited under the Government’s military training scheme. The Minister of Defence (Mr Jones) announced today that 2000 non-com-missioned officers are to be recruited shortly on a voluntary basis for .the territorial force. The bulk of them will be war-time servicemen.
The Minister added lirat provision will also be made for men younger than these to be enlisted as NCOs.
The question of other men offering their services would be considered when the scheme was in operation.
