In The House Yesterday
WELLINGTON, Thu. <Sp.).—The House of Representatives ended the Address-in -Reply debate early last evening.
Jn less that two and a half hours it had passed the first two bills on the Order Paper—the Transport Licensing Amendment Bill, bringing the fixing of tram fares under the jurisdiction of the Transport Charges Committee, and the Minimum Wage Amendment Bill, prescribing the cicw minimum rates of wages.
New measures introduced were the Cooperative Dairy Companies Bill and the Physiotherapy Bill. Both were read a first time. The afternoon was spent in discussing Cl Ministerial replies to members' questions.
The House adjourned at 10.15 p.m. until 2.30 p.m. today, when further bills on the Order Paper will be discussed.
