A concert microphone can be a fearsome thing to many people, but to one tiny tot last night “mike” was quite a plaything. The youngest competitor in the Talent Quest, this child seemed to gain inspiration and confidence from the instrument and its attached lead. At times she was in the ninning for the “Sinatra stakes” as she grasped the stand and pulled it towards herself, then, as a gesture of disdain, she would lean right away from it and throw a glance to either side of the stage, as if to say; 'T am not afraid of you.”
