Flat Rate On Party Lines
WELLINGTON, Wed. (Sp.).— The Postmaster-General (Mr Hackett) informed Mr S. G. Smith (O—Hobson), in the House this' afternoon that he would approve of a flat rate being charged on a telephone party line where subscribers in ti'.e group are unanimous in a desire to snare the cost on that basis, provided there is a good prior understanding with the post office to cover any changes which might involve an increase in the flat-rate rental.
