Jockeys Regret Taranaki Move

WELLINGTON. Wed. (P.A.)—Regret that, the Taranaki district representatives had seen fit to bring forward a remit extending the 10-minute rule to 15 minutes, was expressed by the president (Mr W. J. Broughton) at the annual meeting, held at Trent ham. of the New Zealand Jockeys’ Association. “There are many progressive jockeyclubs in the Dominion,” said Mr Broughton, “and X sincerely hope they will not permit less progressive clubs to bring about any retrograde step such as the one proposed.” Mr Broughton also expressed concern at the poor attempts being made by clubs to improve jockeys’ rooms and facilities. Mr Broughton was re-elected president, and Mr L. J. Ellis and Mr T. W. Green were elected vice-presid-ents.
