Parry To Deputise For Prime Minister

WELLINGTON, Mon. (Sp.).— The Minister of Internal Affairs (Mr Parry) lias been given the task of leading the House of Representatives during the fortnight’s absence of the Prime Minister (Mr Fraser).

The selection caused some differences of opinion as the Minister of Industries and Commerce (Mr Nordmeyer) has deputised on at least one other occasion.

Mr Parry will have to face the next fortnight with a thin Order Paper. The Address-in-Reply debate is expected to end on Tuesday. Wednesday afternoon will be devoted to Ministerial replies to questions.

There remain five new measures — the Transport licensing Amendment Bill, the Minimum Wage Amendment Bill, the Forests Bill, the Industrial Relations Bill and the Fire Services Bill.

Among the new bills expected next week is a Railways Consolidation Bill which was held over last session.
