Many Gan nets Stay At Cepe Kidnappers

NAPIER, Sat.. (Sp.).—One hundred or more birds have remained behind in this year’s annual migration of gannets from Cape Kidnappers' sanctuary.

This rare break in custom is attributed to the fact that in the past year or two the Napier trawling fleet has been operating further afield. Consequently there would appear to be a big increase in young fish in the shallower waters along the coastline. Many adult gannets apparently are content to linger and partake of the plentiful supply of young fish in the bay.
