'Obstruction In RSA Affairs'
DUNEDIN, Fri, (P.A.)—“Rejection by fit members at the recent NZRSA conference of a remit which suggested a conference of war disabled to determine their own affairs, was typical of the obstruction endemic in RSA affairs which ljas caused hardship to war wounded.” This statement was contained in a resolution adopted at a meeting of the executive of the Otago and Southland War Amputees’ Association. The resolution also expressed concern at the “refusal of the RSA to accept the opinions of organised bodies of war disabled in matters which are personal to war disabled.” A further resolution to be sent to the Prime Minister and Ministers of Finance and War Pensions, stated: “That this meeting of war amputees of Otago and Southland requests that as the NZRSA conference resolutions on disability pensions are not based on evidence or mandate from the war disahled, and are therefore not necessarily the opinions of war disabled, this meeting requests that before any alteration to the existing legislation takes place, evidence of recognised secions of war disabled be taken and accepted as an authentic guide to decisions made by the Legislature.”
