Thief Was Determined

WELLINGTON, Fri. (P.A.).— The thief or thieves who got away with about' £l6O from Anthony Motors premises, Courtenay Place, Wellington, last night showed some determination. First the safe was wheeled from the office on a wheeled jack to the mechanics' ‘Workbench, where everything for the opening job was on hand. However, the thief who tried an acetylene torch used the welding tip instead of the cutting, tip. He then took a sledge hammer, and, finding no cold chisel, used a screw driver, which broke. He tried a pair of scissors in the role, but they bent. Then he just bashed the back of the safe with a sledgehammer. That worked.
