Adjournment Unlikely?

WELLINGTON, Thu. (Sp.>. The House of Representatives may not adjourn for about a fortnight as from July 22 for the referendum campaign on compulsoi’y military training. Although the Prime Minister (Mr Fraser) said in the House on Friday that an adjournment was likely, subsequent discussions with the Leader of the Opposition (Mr Holland) in the last two days have altered the outlook. It is understood that, while Mr Holland is prepared to grant pairs to enable leading speakers from both parties to tour the country, he fails to see the necessity for a fortnight’s adjournment. Some members of the Government are also known to share this view.
