Pravda To P.M. Attlee
MOSCOW, Wed. (11 a.m.)— David Zaslavsky, chief editor of Pravda, writing in that journal today, described as “hysterical and morbid” the recent speech by Mr Attlee when he referred to "hypocritical” Communism and called Russia one of the most backward countries in the world. Zaslavsky said Mr Attlee had "hurled insults, mingled with sobs, anger and tears.
“It is obvious that Mr Attlee was not master of himself and that his usual restraint, not to speak of logic, has left him.” Of Mr Attlee's statement that Britain’s unofficial strikes were being caused on instructions from a foreign power—“people who do not belong here spiritually”—Pravda said: “Without examining in detail that dirty insinuation, we shall just say that in the case of Mr Attlee who is executing the orders of a foreign power—America—hints of such a nature are tactless and ridiculous.”
