New Northland Police Inspector
Sub-Inspector P. Munro, of Auckland, has been promoted to the rank of inspector and transferred to Whangarei, where he will take charge of the Northland police district.
Inspector J. J. Sparks, whe has been in charge' of the Northland district since December, 1946, is on retiring leave. Sub-Inspector J. Crowley, who was stationed in Whangarei as seniorsergeant until his promotion, and who has been temporarily in charge of the Gisborne district, has been promoted inspector and appointed permanently in charge at Gisborne. Senior-Detective M. E. Lines, of Wellington, has been promoted to subinspector and transferred to Auckland. Similar promotion has been given Senior-Sergeant J. McKie, of Wellington, and formerly of Whangarei. who has been transferred to Christchurch. Senior-Detective W. McLennan, of Lower Hutt, has been promoted to sub-inspector and transferred to take charge of the Wellington wharf station. Sub-Inspector K. Edwards has been transferred from the Wellington whai’f station to take charge at Taranaki Street, Wellington.
