Proposed Nursery In Hospital Board Ground
THE attitude of the Department of Health to the building of a residential nursery in the hospital grounds is to be sought by the Whangarei Hospital Board.
This decision was reached at the board meeting yesterday. It was influenced by the engineer’s report that alterations to the proposed nursery at Woodhill would cost at least £IBOO, and even then the property would not be entirely suitable. The Northland Residential Nursery and Creche Society had previously purchased a house property at Woodhilt for conversion to a nursery and
had asked the board to take It over and provide the necessary alterations. In view of this, Mr R. Feaver moved that the society be asked if it was willing to contribute the money it had collected towards the building of a nursery in the hospital grounds. This motion, together with one from Mr J. F. Johnson, that the board approach the department and ascertain its reaction to the establishment of a nursery in the grounds, was carried.
