£30,000 For Brett Home
AUCKLAND, Thu. (Sp).—The Henry Brett Memorial Home Trust Board, Inc., will be the recipient of £30,000. a bequest provided for under the will of the late Mr Hallyburton Johnstone, of Auckland. This was announced yesterday by the Guardian Trust and Executors Company of New Zealand, Ltd. After making provision for a specific bequest of silver ornaments to the Auckland Museum and other bequests, the money is the estimated residue of the estate.
The money, under the terms of the will, is to be used for the erection of an additional wing or rooms, or, if the trust board thinks fit, for general maintenance and upkeep. OTHER BEQUESTS
Formerly the home of the late Sir Henry Brett, the home was presented by the legatees in Sir Henpr’s estate, to the Church of England in 1923. as an orphanage for girls. At present it is in charge of Sister Emily, of the Order of the Good Shepherd, and there is a roll of 46 girls between the ages of three and 16. Mr Johnstone’s will also provided for several other charitable bequests. Mr Johnstone died on April 23 at the age of 87.
