Was Decisive

The inclusion of M. Johnson I (Maungatapere) in the Whangarei men’s A hockey team to travel to Auckland for the Country Week tournament justifies all credit given in the past to this capable player. As centi-e-forward or inside in last year’s crack High School team, he often had a deciding effect on the result of a game and was instrumental on several occasions in the school defeating some of the older and more experienced teams. In the Maungatapere® team he does not. appear to have settled down yet, but with Country Week experience will prove an acquisition to a side which has yet to register a win.
