AUCKLAND, Tue. (Sp.)-- For the lirst time since 1931 the mounting cost jf hospital services in Auckland has aeen arrested. The 1949-50 estimates of I lie Auckand Hospital Board provide for a .otal expenditure of £1,705,551, in comparison with £1,748,429 last year, and it s considered that further improvement is possible if a present trend in ‘cost consciousness" is maintained, These budget figures were presented ;o the board last night as the annual jill for a vast range of hospital services which cater for the daily admission of 68 patients.
