Progressive Society Formed At Kaitaia
KAITAIA, Tue. (Sp.).—Formation ot' a progressive society or Kaitaia and district was unanimously agreed upon at an enthuiiastic meeting of citizens on Saturday night.

A further meeting is lo be held as soon as possible to hear proposals from :he Whangavei president and to define ;he society’s objects. In the absence of. the Whangarci Progressive Society president (Mr J. F. Johnson), who had been delayed by the Associated Chambers of Commerce conference at Auckland, Mr L. R. Hegle.y, now resident at Kaitaia and formerly vice-president of the Whangarci organisation and chairman jf its entertainment committee, outlined the scope of the proposed society. The following interim officers were appointed: Chairman, Mr A. M. Timed; secretary, Mr A. G. Wilson; committee, Dr J. H. Webber. Messrs D. Archibald, s<hu\, L. 11. Hcglc-.y, H. C. Williams. K. Meredith, L. Williams. 11. A. Timbers, J. T. Williams. J. Cowie and E. M. Dlark.
