All Blades Arrive At Capetown On Tuesday?

The All Blacks will probably arrive at Capetown next Tuesday. This was intimated by the chairman of the New Zealand Rugby Council (Mr A. St. C. Belcher) at the annual meeting of the New Zealand union yesterday. * * * * The search for the Auckland Aero Club’s Tiger Moth ’ZK-AIS, missing since the late afternoon of Thursday, April 28, was again carried out by the RNZAF yesterday without any trace bc-ing sighted. Two planes, a Dakota combing the beaches and a Moth sweeping over an. extensive area, made unsuccessful flights. The search was continued today. A further 298 state housing tenancies were allocated in March under the system whereby at least half of all newiy-vacant or newly-built state rental houses and flats go to cx-ser-
vicemen. This brought the total number so allocated until the end of that month to 10,256. * * * * Money to buy plant for a motor vehicle testing station will be included in this year's estimates of the Wellington City Council. It will cost about £16,000. The Mayor (Mr Appleton) said he favoured the City Council taking over all responsibility for testing motor vehicles for warrants of fitness when the station was established. * * * * Coming on top of 13 successive wet days, heavy rain drenched the Gi6borne district throughout the past 24 hours and the East Coast highway is blocked at the top end of (he fast-rising Oweka Stream. Since April 17 the district has had only one line day, although the rain has not been heavy until the past Hvo days
