Bakers Against Saturday Bread

AUCKLAND. Fri., (P.A.).~ Delegates to the conference of the New Zealand Federation of Bakers and Pasrycooks today reiterated their opposition to Saturday baking. The following resolution, passed in committee, was handed to the press.: “That in view of union members’ refusal to work on» Saturdays and the provision of the award requiring payment of overtime rates for Saturday work, the New* Zealand council of the federation be instructed to apply to the Government to have regulations gazetted to prohibit the baking and delivery of bread and small goods on Saturdays.”
