Children's Artist Visits New Zealand

WELLINGTON, Mon., (P.A.) .—Better known as Molly Bailie. Mrs M. E. Laing, a noted English children's artist,* arrived in the Mataroa on Saturday. Mrs Laing has published one book of her own, and has illustrated others Her work has included designing o' decorations for children’s nurseries and playrooms. “I am most emphatic that anyone who draws for children must do it thoroughly,” said Mrs Laing. “You must give a child a lot to look at, and a lot to find out for himself. If there is colour there should be olenty of it.” Mrs Laing left for Auckland where she will be the guest of Mr and Mrs Andrew Galloway of Epsom. She expects to be in New Zealand two or three months.
