Memories! For Boursgainville Flyers

GISBORNE, Sat. (P.A.).—A memorial to members of No. 30 Squadron. RNZAF. who trained in Gisborne and served in the Bougainville area of the Pacific war. is to be established on Dai’ton Field. It will be a standard flagstaff embellished with a commemorative plaque bearing the names of six men who lost their lives in operations from Bougainville. The memorial project was sponsored after the second annual reunion of No. 30 Squadron and No. 30 Servicing Unit veterans. The dedication ceremony will take place on June 5 when the chief of the air staff and possibly the Minister of Defence will attend.
