OTTAWA, Wed. (1 p.m.) .—Britain has agreed to purchase from Canada next year 160,000,0001 b. of bacon, 50,000,0001 b. of cheese, and 1,533,000 cases of shell eggs or their equivalent in dried, whole or frozen whole eggs. The prices for bacon and cheese will be the same as in 1948. Contracts for 1949 prices for eggs are slightly lower. The bacon contract represents a reduction of 35,000,0001 b from 1948. The egg contract also is smaller, but the amount of cheese is unchanged.

The bacon price is $36 per 1001 b., cheese 30 cents a lb.,' and eggs 52A cents per dozen, compared with 541 d in 1948.
