Only 25 N.Z. Scouts For Jamboree
WELLINGTON, Tue. (P.A.)— The New Zealand representation at the Boy Scout Jamboree at Yarra Brae, near Melbourne, will be restricted to a token contingent of 25. The party will sail from Wellington in the Wanganella on December 9, and return in the same ship, leaving Sydney on January 13. It had been hoped to send a contingent of 150 from New Zealand, leaving Auckland by the Westralia on December 17.
The token contingent will comprise one scout from each county, plus two officers. The leaders will be F. Mclvor (Christchurch), with W. Parker (Dannevirke) as deputy-leader. The jamboree is to be held from December 29 to January 10. Two scouts from Whangarei and one from Ruawai had been selected to represent Northland. The number will now be reduced to one.
