Scholarships For Makers' Sons, Daughters
SYDNEY. Tue. Q p.m.).—'The Joint Coal Board has announced that it will give four higher education Scholarships to miners’ sons or daughters. Unlike the board's present education benefits which offer bursaries and subsidies to boys training for skilled mining jobs, the new scholarships will encourage miners' children to _ enter orofessions outside the mining industry. They will be worth £250 each and will be tenable at Sydney University the Conservatorium of Music or a technical college.
