Mosquitoes Get Into Nudist Convention
SYDNEY (By Airmail) Seventy nudists from various states, and two from New Zealand, attended their first Australian convention at a secret rendezvous 18 miles from Sydney, during November.
Officials posted lookouts at strategic points to watch for intruders, and the official organ of the Australian Sun Clubs, in its October issue, declared that no one would be allowed on the property without a membership card. But there were two “gate crashers” —the weather and an army of mosquitoes.
Normally, hot weather can be expected around Sydney in November, but the weather lias not been normal, and there have been many days when a warm morning has been followed by a cool, afternoon, and a colder night. That was the sort of weather the nudists experienced on the first day, and as the temperature receded, more and more of the members succumbed to the temptation to put on more clothes.
Next day the mosquitoes arrived and soon it was a case of “clothes on” for protection. —Reuters.
