Compton Scores 3rd Successive Century
CAPETOWN, Fri. (11.30 a.m.).—The MCC commenced a match against Natal at Durban today.
An uninspiring day’s batting by the MCC was relieved by Compton who scored his third successive century.
His timing was faulty at the start but he ran into his best form when he settled down and hit nine fours.
MCC, first innings: Washbrook b Dawson 15; Hutton b. Dawson 61; Crapp b. McCarthy 62; Compton b McCarthy 106; Palmer lbw b. McCarthy 13; Mann 31 not out; Evans 14 not out; extras, 14; total, five for 310.
