Gaol On Car Conversion Charge
WELLINGTON. Thu. (P.A.)—Two stewards from the Rangitiki which arrived at Wellington yesterday, William Henry Williams, 48, and Terrence John Peggatt, 20, were each sentenced to one week's imprisonment by Mr A. A. McLachlan, S.M.. in the Magistrate’s Court today on a joint charge of converting a car to their own use in Wellington yesterday. The magistrate said there had been far too much car conversion recently and if he dealt with accused leniently the same thing would happen when other ships arrived.
