Greek Victory By End Of Year ?

ATHENS, Sun. (11 a.m.). —General Stelios Kitrilakis, deputy Chief-of-Staff, announced that the Grammes victory was such a blow to the guerillas that suppression of the rebellion could be anticipated by the end of 1948.

The Associated Press correspondent at Kozane quotes General Kit.’ilakis as saying that part of the Greeic Army will hold Grammes v. V iie other sew Fens attack the remaining guerilla strongholds.

General Kitrilakis estimated that 4000 of the 11,000 guerillas in the Grammos area were killed or captured. It is believed 1000 are hiding in the area and 1000 others escaped to Albania.
