DESERTER
WAIROA. “This man’s wife and family were in New Zealand, and that was the inducement to desert his ship,” said Senior-Ser-geant C. Mcßae, when Glenn Harry Penn appeared before Mr L. G. H. Sinclair, S.M., in Wairoa. Penn was charged with having deserted the Port Adelaide at Lyttelton and witlr breach probation. A fine of £2O was imposed.
