INVESTIGATION to be made Mr Busck moved that the publicity committee of the chamber be asked to investigate publicity for Northland on a national basis, with a view to bringing a l-emit before the Northland Associated Chambers’ conference this year. The motion was carried. The chamber decided to approach the Northern Steamship Company in regard to its attitude towards a South Island-Northland direct freight service. A . committee consisting of Mr J. R. Connell and the president (Mr K. Haslett) was appointed to interview the chairman of the Whangarei Harbour Board and Mr W. M. Fraser, and report back to the executive meeting.
