Investiture Of New Hikurangi Vicar

The new Anglican vicar of Hiknrangi (the Rev. W. J. Hughes) was invested at a ceremony in Hikurangi yesterday. Mr Hughes was formerly curate at St Aidan’s, Remuera, and succeeds the Rev. G. L. Malfie.

The investiture was performed by the Venerable A. E. Prebble, Archdeacon of Waimate, assisted by the Revs. R. K. Dobson and P. Tipene, together witn the chancellor of the diocese (Mr A. Marsden Woods). Christ Church (Whangarei) parish choir was also present. A social was held after the ceremony.
