£SOO Grant For Two Russell Bridges
The Minister of Works (Mr Semple) has made available to the Russell Town Board a grant of £SOO for repair of the York and Wellington Streets Bridges. This information was received today by Mr A. J. Murdoch, M.P. During the war when the military forces were stationed at Russell the two bridges suffered considerable damage. Negotiations have been carried on for some time between the Minister and Mr Murdoch.
