AUCKLAND. Mon. (Sp.).The largest. fastest and newest transport aircraft of the Royal Air Force, the Handley Page Hastings. touched* down at Whenuapai at 2 p.m. yesterday. Captained by Squadron Leader H. G. Hazel den. chief test pilot of Handley Page, the Hastings arrived from Sydney for a week s demonstration tour of the Dominion. Its visit is being, made under the auspices ol the British Ministry of Supply and the plane will be put through its paces over the Empire route. Having completed a month's tour of Australia, the machine crossed the Tasman from Mascot in the last time of four hours 46 minutes.
