South African Cabinet
CAPETOWN, Thu. (1 p.m.)—General Smuts, in a reshuffled Cabinet, appointed the former Minister of Finance (Mr J. H. Hofmeyr) Minister of Mines. Mr Hofmeyr remains Leader of the House and deputy Premier. He had asked to be relieved of the pressure of duties. General Smuts is Prime Minister, and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Defence. The new Minister of Finance is Mr F. C. Sturrock.
