2500 Gns For Balloch Colt
WELLINGTON, Fri. (Sp.)— Seventythree lots, averaging 413gns changed hands at the second day of the national yearling sales at Trcnthum yestcrcfay.
Values were again lower than last year.
Top price of 2500g'ns was paid by Mr C. Wheeler. Adelaide, for a chestnut colt by Balloch from Royal Sister. The colt was bred and offered by Mr M. I-I. Tims, junr, of Te Awamutu. 750GNS Foil WHAN GAR FI COLT A Nizami colt from Flaxmoor, offered by Messrs A. R. Macrae and R. W. Hewitt. Masterton, brought llOOgns, the buyer being Mr M. Grogan, on behalf of an Australian buyer.
A coll by Balloch from Lady Middleham, offered by the Alton Lodge Stud and bought also by Mr Wheeler, realised lOOOgns. The highest price for a filly was 850gns, paid by Mr F. J. Dwyer, Wellington, for a filly by Bulandshar from Liaison, bred by Messrs Greenwood and Gillespie, Hastings. Submitted by Mr L. W. Penny, of Whangarei, a brown colt, Beau Repaire—Whirlmint, was bought by A. Winder (Te Rapa) as agent for 750gns.
