Communists Resign
PARIS. Thu. (1.20 p.m.)— After three days of constitutional difficulties and arguments, in which attendants at times had to intervene between deputies threatening to come to blows, the French Assembly today sailed ahead in seemingly clear waters. The Communists failed in their attempt to hinder the election of the president and vice-presidents and resigned from all the Assembly’s offices today. They maintain, however, that the Assembly’s proceedings were illegal and observers predict a widening of the breach between Communists and the rest when the Assembly meets again on January 2G.
