Few Pigeons Home In Longest Race
The three longest races of the season for pigeons belonging to members of the Whangarei Homing Pigeon Club were marred by very bad weather. No birds completed the distances in race time and only a few have reached home since. The events were flown from Timaru (687 miles), Christchurch (597). and Parnassus (510). Points scored by yearlings were; E. J. Gilbey and Son 118; R. Wise 102; R. Longlands 101. Old birds: R. Longlands 290; A. Reed and Sons 268; E. J. Gilbey and Son 262.
