Here For Yearling Sales At Trentham

AUCKLAND. Fri. (P.A.)—To attend the national yearling sales at Trentham, a veteran buyer, Mr C. Wheeler, of Adelaide, a Sydney racehorse owner and businessman, Mr C. Ewington. and Mr T. J. Smith, also of Sydney, and who is the youngest trainer there holding a No. 1 training licence, arrived in the vessel Marine Phoenix today.

Mr Wheeler, who is 82, commenting briefly on the Gaming Commission report. said the double totalisator "was a big thing in Adelaide and very popular.”

Mr Ewington said he was impressed with the racing system here. He added: "There is a swing towards the totalisator in Sydney.”
