Almost Meatless Week-end In Sydney
SYDNEY, Fri. (10.30 a.m.)—As there able to supply the week-end needs are only about 250 tons of meat availof Sydney residents, about three people in four will be without meat.
About 600 of Sydney’s 1300 butchers were without meat yesterday, and others were sold out early in the morning.
Today Homebush Abattoirs employees will decide whether they will heed the recommendation from their union to return to work.
If the men reject the advice, which is the second recommendation to be made, the dispute will extend to minor abattoirs and country killing centres.
