Travelling By Cycle To N.Z.
WINDSOR (Ontario), Wed. (11 a rn .).—Travelling by bicycle from England to New Zealand with several trips across North America thrown in for good measure. Eric J. Cooke dropped into Windsor today with about 17,000 miles of pedal-pushing behind him. Cook started the tour in March 1946.
He travelled 4600 miles around the British Isles and then sailed for New York. From there he went to Niagara Falls and then to Windsor.
In September he travelled across the United St.ytes to Los Angeles, up the Pacific coast to Canada and across the prairLs.
He plans to stay here about a month on hfs second v'sit. Then he heads west again wi'.n New Zealand in sight once more. He hopes to start a sporting goods store there and settle down.
