MacArthur Drops Campaign Hint ?
NEW YORK. Mon. (11 a.m.)—Speculation whether General MacArthur will be a presidential candidate has been renewed as a result of a message he sent to be read at the celebration of the centennial of Wisconsin, his home state. The portion of the message which is regarded as significant was: "There can be no greater satisfaction than such as comes from confidence reflected in the selection by one’s neighbours for public service.” Organisers for the “MacArthur for President” campaign committee expressed delight with the message.
