Half NSW Wheat Below Average
SYDNEY. Tue. (1.30 p.m.i.—Nearly half the wheat harvest in New South Wales may be below fair average duality. However, authorities in Sydney and Melbourne agree that there should bo no difficulty in marketing every bushel.
Reports reaching the Department of Agriculture from field officers in most of the cereal growing districts emphasise the damage being done by rain. ■ Unless there is dry weather for a few weeks this month, the damage will be even more serious. District Agronomists say that much grain in the Western district about Farkes may never >h' harvested, that only about a third of the grain in the Young district is likely t<> reach fair average qualify and that the grain sample about Mudgec is the worst they have even seen.
