Lower Freight For Food For Britain

Food parcels for Britain are to bo carried at Uvo-thirds the normal air freight rate when consignments weigh less' than 2201bs and at half the rate where they weigh 2201bs or more, according to an announcement made by Tasman Empire Airways, Ltd. Agreement had been reached among the companies operating the service between New Zealand and the United Kingdom to lower the freight rates in order to assist the Food for Britain movement. The new rates are: Consignments weighing less than 2201b5. 2-l/9d per 2.2!b5; consignments weighing 2201 b or more. 18, 7 per 2.21b5. There is an additional transhipment charge of 2/0 a consignment. These rates cover delivery to addresses and are effective immediately.
