Business As Usual At Cheaper Fares
MELBOURNE, Mon. (1 p.m.)—Despite the newly-issued Commonwealth regulations giving the Government power to deny the use of Commonwealth airports and facilities to any airline which refuses to charge fares and freights approved by the Minister of Civil Aviation, Ansett Airways is continuing business as usual. The company has declined to increase fares to the level of those charged by the Government company, and is fighting the case on the principle that the Government cannot use the control system to keep prices up. Ansett Airways will seek an injunction in the High Court if the Government attempts to deny the company the use of aerodromes.
