TRAVEL
WELLINGTON Restrictions on travel imposed bvj.he obligation on all persons leaving New Zealand to obtain exit permits have been lifted by the revocation of the Overseas Passenger Emergency Regulations, 1939. Since the end of hostilities the regulations had not been used merely to keep people in New Zealand, said the Minister of Internal Affairs (Mr Parry). They had been administered to prevent travellers from New Zealand being stranded through inability to obtain return passages, to regulate the number of travellers according to transport facilities, and to restrict unnecessary travel to England and Europe.
ThefquesStion of passages from England to New Zealand was still one of extreme difficulty.— (Sp.) • * •
