Nurses To Receive Increase in Pay ?
WELLINGTON, Wed. (P A.)—“Since September the Couri of Arbitration has issued an order the general effect of which is that the vast majority of workers received an increase of 10/a week. “Are nurses to be given that same consideration or*are they once again to be left behind?” asked Mrs E. M. Gilmer, a member of the Wellington Hospital Board, in an interview today.
Mrs Gilmer said recent statements by the Hospital Board Association of New Zealand regarding the question of nurses’ salaries and general conditions “conveyed nothing more than vague generalities,” and it was full time that nurses and girls who were thinking of taking up the profession, and their parents, were given some facts.
